Workers’ Comp Claims Information
What is Workers’ Compensation?
Workers’ Compensation provides temporary disability benefits and medical benefits to an employee who has an injury as the result of a compensable work related accident, or acquires a compensable occupational disease. Workers’ compensation is designed to provide the quick delivery of predictable benefits to workers, or their dependents, in the event of a work related accidental death.
It is intended to benefit the employer as well as the employee. The employee receives immediate benefits in exchange for giving up the possibility of suing the employer. The employer benefits by receiving immunity from being sued, in most cases, by accepting the claim as being compensable. The question of negligence or fault, with some exceptions, is not at issue.
