Managed Care
New Mexico Mutual has assembled a group of providers that will assist us in providing quality cost-effective services for our policyholders in New Mexico. On your behalf, we develop relationships with Acute Occupational facilities and Medical Service providers.
What is an Acute Occupational facility?
An Acute Occupational facility is a facility that treats occupational injuries for your injured employees. They strive to provide quality, cost effective services that are reasonable and help in returning injured employees to a productive lifestyle as soon as is medically possible. As part of the treatment plan, an active return to work strategy is employed.
In an emergent situation, we want you to make the best decision on medical direction for your injured employee. Should this situation arise please do what you feel is best for your employee.
What is a Medical Service Provider (MSP)?
A Medical Service Provider is a licensed provider of special services where an Acute Occupational facility may refer an employee for additional care. An example of a MSP is a rehabilitation facility, durable medical goods provider, prescription provider, or occupational therapist. In addition, MSPs may assist with any additional medical needs beyond the Acute Occupational facility.
