Our Corporate Governance Department operates as the company’s in-house legal and advisory resource to provide guidance and information on products, services, policies, and practices, to assure compliance with laws, regulations, company policy, corporate governance standards, and industry best practices. The Corporate Governance Department focuses on three general areas: Compliance - Ensuring that New Mexico Mutual action follows laws, regulations, and company policy.
Ethics - Fostering a corporate culture of doing the right thing in the right manner in any situation according to New Mexico Mutual policy and the law
Corporate Governance - Facilitating, board, officer, department director, and employee relations and oversight thorough an internal control system to ensure accurate and transparent financial and operational reporting.
In carrying its responsibilities, our Corporate Governance Department administers a number of programs such as complaint management, internal auditing, fraud prevention, and external exam coordination. Each program is designed to foster a top-down 360 degree compliance culture marked by transparency, financial integrity, operational excellence, and ethical behavior.
